Millennium Forest News from January 28th

As the new year began, I walked through the Millennium Forest and found that the vibrant leaves and flowers that had previously adorned the forest had given way to a completely wintery landscape.

Among them, this camellia stands out with its contrast of white and yellow.
Camellias are plants that bloom in winter, adding a quiet touch of color to the forest during this season when there are few flowers.
If you visit the Millennium Forest, be sure to look for it.

Next up is the Fatsia japonica, with its striking contrast of green and white.
Fatsia flowers bloom from autumn to winter and can be seen clearly along the Hiraku River.
Be sure to keep an eye out when you go for a walk.

As I walked, listening to the rustling of leaves, I came across a rock dove resting its wings next to a tree.
The way they relaxed seemed somehow warm, creating a peaceful scene in the winter forest.

Although spring still feels like a long way off, small signs of spring are beginning to appear in the gardens.
New buds of hydrangeas are popping up near the pond. I'm looking forward to the coming season.

On Friday, November 28th, we cooperated with the Kiba Park Area Management Council, sponsored by Kiba Park, to hold a tour of the Millennium Forest.
A total of 16 people visited the event.
In the gazebo, the background to the creation of the Millennium Forest and Fujikura Group 's efforts to protect biodiversity were explained, and the visitors were then given a tour of the premises.
