It's been raining a lot recently, but the sun finally came out, so I decided to go to Fujikura-Kiba Millennium Woods.
Perhaps because it had been raining until last night, the hydrangea leaves were shining with dew and looked very beautiful.

The Shichidanka flowers in the park are in full bloom.
When you hear the word "hydrangea," many people may think of the round-shaped plants that are commonly seen around town, but in fact, Shichidanka is also a type of hydrangea.
The name Shichidanka comes from the fact that the sepals (the outer flowers) look like they are stacked in seven tiers.

While looking near the pond, I spotted a kingfisher!
It seems that they fly into the park after catching fish in the nearby river.
Kingfishers begin raising their young around March, and this year too the chicks have safely left the nest.

Standing still was a night heron.
Adult night herons have aspect blue and white contrast, but young birds are covered entirely in brown feathers.
It's amazing how different adults and children can look.

5月11日（日）、江東区主催のイベント「江東区のビオトープを巡るエコ散歩」において、フジクラ 木場千年の森がルートのひとつとして選ばれ、当日は計26名の参加者にご来園いただきました。
はじめに、「千年の森」の概要や、私たちを取り巻く環境問題について簡単に解説した後、園内をご案内しました。講師であるネイチャーリーダー江東スタッフからは、4種類の木の葉を探すクイズも出題され、楽しみながら自然について学んでいただきました。

On Sunday, June 1st, we once again participated in the 18th Koto Ward Environmental Fair, an event hosted by Koto Ward.
On the day, there was an exhibition about Fujikura Group 's carbon neutral promotion activities and an introduction to Fujikura-Kiba Millennium Woods.
Additionally, children, who will be the leaders of the future, were given illustrated guides to living creatures and had the opportunity to color in kingfishers, allowing them to have fun while deepening their understanding of living creatures.
