Environmental Education

As global issues such as climate change and resource depletion become more apparent, we are working to improve knowledge and awareness by enhancing our environmental education materials and e-learning programs so that each Fujikura employee can see environmental issues as their own responsibility and practice environmental considerations in their daily work and daily lives, in order to realize a sustainable future.

Visualization of Environmental Performance

Fujikura Group uses an environmental information collection system to collect environmental data such as the amount of energy, water, and chemical substances usage, and the amount of disposal, as well as the results of environmental activities from domestic and overseas group companies. The results of the data compilation and analysis are shared within the group to visualize the status of environmental impact and the results of reduction activities.

Environmental Impacts of Business Activities

This section shows the major impacts on the environment through business activities of Fujikura and its domestic group companies in fiscal 2024.

Environmental Impacts of Business Activities

Environmental Audit

Fujikura Group regularly conducts environmental audits at domestic Group bases, with audit teams made up of members of the managemental departments visiting the bases. The audits check the management status of facilities, disposal, and hazardous materials, confirm compliance with ordinances and laws and regulations, follow up on corrective measures for environmental problems, and review activities to reduce environmental impact. We provide guidance and support as necessary, and strive to improve the level of environmental conservation and management at each base.

Environmental Activities and Near Miss Collection System

Information about environmental problems at Fujikura and group companies is promptly collected and shared in accordance with the environmental problem reporting regulation to prevent the recurrence of similar problems.

Environmental Compliance

In addition to complying with laws and regulations, we have set stricter voluntary standards and are reducing emissions of chemical substances into the atmosphere and water systems by conducting daily monitoring, regular measurements, environmental audits, etc. We are also working to thoroughly manage our voluntary standards by strengthening the maintenance and management of our facilities and taking preventive measures in advance.
