Fujikura.Ltd.

Fujikura Ltd. (President and CEO: Naoki Okada) and Avnet, Inc. (Nasdaq: AVT) are announcing the release of the 28 GHz Phased Array Antenna Module:PAAM "FutureAccessTM" development platform for millimeter wave frequency bands. We will exhibit this platform at the international conference: IMS in the United States.

This platform enables customers to develop advanced 5G mmWave systems using Fujikura’s PAAM and AMD’s*1 ZynqTM RFSoC*2 Gen3, controlled by Avnet’s proven RFSoC Explorer® software. This combination of leading-edge components and software will allow customers to prototype quickly with Fujikura’s compact PAAM and AMD’s RFSoC.

Fujikura’s PAAM operates in the 3GPP*3 FR2*4 frequency bands n257 (28 GHz), n258 (26 GHz), and n261 (27 GHz), allowing for use in both indoor and outdoor applications. It is a complete PAAM module with a highly integrated 8x8 antenna elements, RF-ICs*5and filters to realize optimal TCO*6. This high level of integration enables compact product design and quick time to market. With high-power efficiency and high-speed beam switching (<220ns), Fujikura PAAM-based systems can obtain industry leading performance. Also, with a calibration-free architecture and Fujikura’s extreme attention to quality, end customers will have a significant advantage in system integration, manufacturing, deployment, and longevity.

Avnet's RFSoC Explorer® software, included with the development platform, is scalable to control the entire system from the antenna to digital and is an easy-to-use MATLAB application that allows you to quickly implement and test beamforming applications without HDL*7 or software coding.

At IMS2023 (International Microwave Symposium) in San Diego in June, Fujikura, Avnet, and Rohde & Schwarz will announce for the first time the results of validating the development platform on the R&S®ATS800B benchtop CATR OTA test system from Rohde & Schwarz. In Industry Workshops IWTU7, we will present an interactive remote demonstration using a 5G NR*8 test signal with a bandwidth of 400MHz.
Please also visit our booth #2514 when you come to the exhibition venue.
