The company was switched from a personal business to an unlimited partnership company named "Fujikura Electric & Wire Rubber Co., Ltd." in 1901, and was reorganized to the present structure and renamed Fujikura Electric Wire Corporation in 1910. The company celebrated the centenary of its founding in 1985 and its 120th anniversary in 2005. We declared that the year 2005 would mark the start of our third 60 years of leadership (third foundation), with an aim to achieve even more growth in the four core business fields.

Global Fujikura Group
The Fujikura Group is globally operating in the following four business categories in 24 countries and regions: infrastructure-related business (power & telecommunication systems); electronics business (focusing on electronic components); automotive products business (focusing on harnesses for automobiles); and others. Of the Group’s 99 consolidated subsidiaries, 22 are operating in Japan and 77 overseas, including 4 newly established in fiscal 2014. Participation in industry associations
Fujikura participates in a range of organizations, including industry associations, and its representatives serve as directors for the development of the industry and improvement of people's lives. The following table shows the major organizations in which the company participates.
