世界初「13824心SWR® /WTC® 」の販売開始
〜ハイパースケールデータセンタ顧客向けに関連成端部材も商用展開を開始~

Fujikura Ltd. (Director, President and CEO: Naoki Okada) has added the world's highest ultra-multi-centirate Fiber Optic Cable "13824 heart SWR ®*1 /WTC ®*2" to the lineup of the Fiber Optic Cable for hyperscale data center, and sales started.
The product has been delivered to a hyperscale data center abroad along with the relevant end components and has already completed laying work.
The new product "13824 Core SWR ® /WTC ®" combines a 12-fiber Intermittently bonded ribbon fibers (Spider Web Ribbon ®: SWR ®) that can be connected to multiple cores in bulk using Fujikura's proprietary technology ultra-thin, high-density fiber optic cable (Wrapping Tube Cable) ®:WTC ® Fiber Optic Cable).

In the construction of data center, in order to laying the Fiber Optic Cable underground, there are restrictions on the quantity and inner diameter of the buried pipes, and a finer diameter Fiber Optic Cable is required.
In the previous WTC, the Fiber Optic Cable with a SWR ® of 69 12-fiber was the most popular, but the new product has achieved twice the number of hearts compared to the conventional model while keeping the outer diameter below 40 mm. ®
In addition, a dedicated Fiber Optic Cable branch kit has been commercialized to match the Sales Launch of the "13824 Heart SWR ® /WTC ®".
This branch kit uses the Spider Web Tube (SWT ) *3 that applies SWR ® technology. It is equipped with a strong point / feature that allows multiple SWRs ® to be easily united, contributing to a significant reduction in the time required for connection processing on the fusion frame.
The fusion rack has a multi-play Optical Fiber fusion function that allows the internal tray to be removed and the fusion operation is carried out. While conventional fusion racks that cannot be removed from trays can be connected and branched by a single operator for ultra-multi-center Fiber Optic Cable Optical Fiber connections and branching, the Fujikura fusion rack has a multi-play Optical Fiber fusion function that allows multiple people to perform fusion work at the same time.
SWT is also used for the fusion frame, and since it can compactly store the Optical Fiber extra length required for multiple people to work, it realizes the industry's top ultra-high-density and space-saving wiring, while reducing the work time of optical construction and supporting early data center construction.

At present, due to the rapid spread and expansion of cloud services and generative AI, communication traffic is increasing at an accelerated pace.
Fujikura will contribute to the construction of advanced communication networks by supplying high-density SWRs ® /WTCs ® with a high diameter and density that can efficiently utilize existing infrastructure networks, and at the same time, continue to contribute to the realization of an advanced information society through the development of high-quality and innovative technologies and products.

*1 SWR (Spider Web Ribbon)
An optical fiber ribbon developed using Fujikura’s proprietary technology. It features a structure in which single optical fibers are bonded intermittently, providing excellent flexibility. It allows for high-density implementation within fiber optic cables, contributing to thinner and higher-density fiber optic cables.

*2 WTC (Wrapping Tube Cable)
Thin-diameter, high-density fiber optic cable developed by Fujikura using proprietary technology that implements SWR. It is a simply structured fiber optic cable in which the optical fiber ribbons are covered with a tape wrapping. Compared to conventional fiber optic cables such as the slot structure mainly used domestically or the loose tube structure common overseas, it has a thinner and higher-density design, enabling the use of existing ducts and significantly shortening construction periods.

*3 Spider Web Tube (SWT)
A tube with an intermittently bonded SWRTM structure, characterized by excellent flexibility and elasticity. This product contributes to achieving industry-leading ultra-high-density, space-saving cabling inside splice frames.
