Selected as a constituent of three global ESG investment index (FTSE Russell)
Fujikura Ltd. (Director, President and CEO: Naoki Okada) announce it has been selected as a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series, FTSE Blossom Japan Index, and FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Indexes" designed by FTSE Russell.
Fujikura has been selected for the FTSE4Good Index Series for three years, for the FTSE Blossom Japan Index for nine years, and for the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index for four years in a row. The FTSE4Good Index Series, based on performance in corporate governance, health and safety, anti-corruption, and climate change, is considered one of the key criteria for investors.
The "FTSE Blossom Japan Index" and the "FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index" are also adopted by the Goverment Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), the world's largest institutional investor, for ESG investment. Among them, the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index aims to promote the transition to a low-carbon economy, and only Japanese companies that are highly rated in ESG fields and recognized for their outstanding efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions are selected.
Fujikura Group has established "Sustainability Targets 2025" (FY2021-FY2025), based on the Fujikura Group Corporate Philosophy MVCV, been promoting its activities. These targets are set from the perspective of double materiality, taking into account both environmental and social materiality and financial materiality. In addition, we have established "Fujikura Group Long-Term Environmental Vision 2050" to promote carbon neutrality. One of the challenges is to "take on the challenge of achieving zero CO 2 emissions from our factories by 2050.
Fujikura Group has set a roadmap for achieving these above goals and will promote specific measures such as energy conservation and the use of non-fossil fuels.
