Sales of the "16-fiber SWR™ /WTC™ "Lineup begins
Fujikura Ltd. (Director, President and CEO: Naoki Okada) has developed the Wrapping Tube Cable™ (hereinafter referred to as WTC™ *1), which is a proprietary technology of Fujikura, which implements the 16-fiber Spider Web Ribbon™ (hereinafter referred to as SWR™ *2).
Conventional WTC™ were equipped with 4-, 8-, and 12-fiber SWR™, but a new 16-core SWR™ capable of multi-core fusion connection has been added to the Lineup. The 16-fiber SWR™ /WTC™ launches sales as a strategy product for AI data center and hyperscale data center.
In recent years, with the spread and development of cloud services and generative AI, investment in data center has become active around the world, and market needs have diversified, such as the adoption of 16-core optical connectors such as MMC/MPO in AI data center and hyperscale data center. For this reason, Fujikura has developed a 16-core type with a high affinity with a multi-core connection type optical connector with a core number of Lineup SWR™, and has decided to sales 288 to 6912 cores as a product Lineup.
The newly developed 16-fiber SWR™ /WTC™ is similar to the conventional SWR™ /WTC™ It also has a thin diameter and high density strong point / feature, contributing to space saving at the time of laying. In addition, since the number of Optical Fiber that can be fused and connected at one time is increased compared to conventional products, it is possible to reduce man-hours at the work site, and realize a significant reduction in work time. In addition, by adopting a sheath that is weather resistant, highly flame retardant, and low smoke emission, it has a strong point / feature that can be laying both inside and outside the building.
Today, communication traffic is increasing at an accelerating rate, and the need for data center construction is growing on a global scale.
