sales of "Non-metallic 2000/3000 core SWR ® /WTC ® Lineup" begins

Fujikura Ltd. (Director, President and CEO: Naoki Okada) has launched sales with the addition of the 2000 and 3000 core SWRs ® *1/WTCs ® *2 to the Lineup of non-metallic Fiber Optic Cable for the domestic market that do not use metal.
The new non-metallic 2000-core and 3000-core SWR ® /WTC ® products are non-metallic Fiber Optic Cable that implement an 8-core Optical Fiber ribbon SWR ® capable of multi-core fusion connection on Fujikura 's proprietary WTC ® technology.
In Japan Japan, when laying Fiber Optic Cable underground, the outer diameter of the Fiber Optic Cable must be kept below 24 mm due to the restriction of the inner diameter of the buried pipeline.
In the conventional SWR ® /WTC ® with a sheath diameter of 250 μm, the maximum limit was 2000 cores due to the limitation of the outer diameter of the cable, but SWR/WTC ® with a sheath diameter of 200 μm ® The outer diameter of the 3000 core type has been reduced to 23 mm, making it possible to laying underground pipelines. In addition, the outer diameter of the 2000 core type has been increased to 20 mm, achieving even finer diameters and higher densities.
In addition, the non-metallic structure eliminates the need for electromagnetic induction measures, which is effective in simplifying construction, and the use of a flame-retardant sheath coating makes it strong point / feature laying both inside and outside the building.
In addition, the Optical Fiber array pitch of the 200 μm SWR ® to be mounted is 250 μm, enabling fusion connection with general-purpose Optical Fiber ribbons.
Currently, due to the rapid spread and expansion of cloud services and generative AI, communication traffic is increasing at an accelerated pace. Fujikura will contribute to the construction of advanced communication networks by supplying fine-diameter, high-density SWRs ® /WTCs ® that can efficiently utilize existing infrastructure networks, and at the same time, will continue to contribute to the realization of an even more advanced information society through the development of high-quality and innovative technologies and products.

Thin, high-density, flame-retardant, non-metallic Fiber Optic Cable

*1 SWR ® (Spider Web Ribbon ®)
Optical Fiber ribbon developed using Fujikura's proprietary technology. It is made by intermittently bonding Optical Fiber and is strong point / feature by its flexibility. It enables high-density mounting within Fiber Optic Cable, contributing to the creation of thinner, higher-density Fiber Optic Cable.

*2 WTC ® (Wrapping Tube Cable ®)
The name of a small-diameter, high-density Fiber Optic Cable that incorporates SWR® and was developed using Fujikura's proprietary technology. Fiber Optic Cable with a simple structure in which an Optical Fiber fiber ribbon is covered with a pressure-wrapped tape. Since it has a smaller diameter and higher density structure than conventional Fiber Optic Cable, such as the slot structure that is mainly used in Japan and the loose tube structure that is common overseas, it can use existing conduits and significantly shorten construction time.
