On behalf of Fujikura Group, I would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to all of you young and energetic people who will be responsible for Fujikura Group in the future.

Fujikura's "enterprising spirit" and "Fujikura's technology
Fujikura was started in 1885 as a private company by Zenpachi Fujikura, the founder of the company, and this year marks the 140th anniversary of its founding. Zenpachi foresaw the coming of the age of electricity, and based on his family's manufacturing technology of women's hair bands, he launched business electric wires with an "enterprising spirit," an attitude of challenge that is still part of Fujikura's DNA today. "Tsunagu" We have continued to hone our unique technologies as "Fujikura of Technology" and have contributed to the creation of customer value and society through technology in a wide range of fields, including energy, information and telecommunications, electronics, and automotive electronics.

About the Medium-Term Management Plan
We are currently implementing a medium-term management plan that will end in fiscal year 2025. In this plan, we have positioned our three core business domains - information infrastructure, information storage, and information terminals - in which we can utilize our core technologies to help realize an advanced information society, and we are providing cutting-edge products and services in each field.
The first, "information infrastructure," is a fundamental area that supports a smart society in which digital technologies such as AI and IoT have permeated every corner of our lives and industries. With optical wiring solutions that utilize our innovative Optcal Fiber and cable technologies, we are contributing to the construction of information and communications infrastructure around the world. With an eye to the future, we are also working on the development of millimeter wave technology that will enable high-speed wireless communications.
The second area, "information storage," targets the data center market, which stores huge amounts of data as cloud services and generative AI become more widespread. Recently, large amounts of Optcal Fiber have come to be used in data center, and we offer high-density optical wiring technology using ultra-high-core count optical cables with up to 6,912 Optcal Fiber. We are currently developing ultra-high-core count optical cables with double that number, 13,842 fibers. Additionally, we are contributing to the development of data center with our unique electronic component technologies, such as Actuator for hard disk drives and devices for cooling CPUs/GPUs.
The third area, "information terminals," utilizes high-definition electronic components, connectors, and wiring/mounting technologies. This area includes PCs, tablets, smartphones, as well as wearable devices such as AR/VR headsets and smartwatches. In addition, we consider next-generation vehicles, such as connected cars, to be information terminals. We will continue to contribute to the evolution of these innovative information terminals through our diverse and unique technologies.
In addition, under "Beyond 2025," which looks beyond 2025, we are working on new business aimed at realizing a carbon-neutral society. We are also focusing on developing technologies that will pave the way to the future, such as "high-temperature superconducting materials," "fiber lasers," and "ultrafast charging technology."

Last year, the information and communications business grew significantly due to the spread of generative AI, and business, business, and energy business also recorded strong results. As a result, the company's performance forecast for fiscal 2024 is sales of 940 billion yen, operating profit of 124 billion yen, ordinary profit of 122 billion yen, and net profit of 74 billion yen, all of which will be record highs. The performance targets set out in the medium-term management plan are expected to be achieved one year ahead of schedule. This fiscal year, we will lay the groundwork for the next medium-term management plan, which will start next fiscal year, and will continue to work on further improving our competitiveness by strengthening existing business, creating new business, promoting digitalization, and strengthening governance.
