Congratulatory message to new Fujikura employee for 2025 (summary)
Fujikura Ltd. (Director, President and CEO: Naoki Okada) held its induction ceremony today. The following is a summary of the congratulatory speech given by Naoki Okada Director, President and CEO to the new Fujikura employee.

On behalf of Fujikura Group, I would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to all of you young and energetic people who will be responsible for Fujikura Group in the future.
"Enterprising spirit" and "Fujikura, a Technology Leader "
Fujikura started in 1885 as a sole proprietorship by its founder, Zenpachi Fujikura, and celebrated its 140th anniversary this year. Zenpachi foresaw the coming of the age of electricity, and based on the manufacturing technology of women's hair bands, which was his family business, he launched Electric Wire business with an "enterprising spirit", which is still in Fujikura's DNA today. Fujikura has continued to refine its unique technology as a "Fujikura, a Technology Leader" and has contributed to customer 's value creation and society through "Tsunagu" technology in a wide range of fields such as energy, information and communication, electronics, and automotive electronics.

現在、当社は2025年度を最終年度とする中期経営計画を推進中です。この計画では、高度情報化社会の実現に向け、当社のコア技術を活かせる「情報インフラ」「情報ストレージ」「情報端末」の3つを核心的事業領域と位置付け、それぞれの分野で先進的な製品やサービスを提供しています。
1つ目の「情報インフラ」は、AIやIoTなどのデジタル技術が暮らしや産業の隅々に浸透したスマート社会を支える基盤となる領域です。当社の革新的な光ファイバ・ケーブル技術を活用した光配線ソリューションにより、世界の情報通信インフラの構築に貢献しています。また、将来を見据え、高速無線通信を可能にするミリ波技術の開発にも取り組んでいます。
2つ目の「情報ストレージ」は、クラウドサービスや生成AIの普及拡大に伴い、膨大なデータを貯蔵するデータセンタ市場を対象とした領域です。昨今、データセンタでも大量の光ファイバが使われるようになり、当社は最大6912心の光ファイバを実装した超多心光ケーブルによる高密度光配線技術を提供しています。さらに、現在はその倍となる13824心の超多心光ケーブルの開発を進めています。加えて、ハードディスクドライブ用アクチュエータやCPU/GPU冷却用デバイスといった独自の電子部品技術により、データセンタの発展に貢献しています。
3つ目の「情報端末」は、高精細な電子部品、コネクタ、配線・実装技術を活用した領域です。この分野には、PC、タブレット、スマートフォン、ならびにAR/VRヘッドセット、スマートウォッチといったウェアラブル端末が含まれます。さらに、コネクテッドカーなどの次世代車も情報端末の一つと捉えています。当社は、多様でユニークな技術を通じて、これら革新的な情報端末の進化に引き続き貢献してまいります。
また、2025年の先を見据えた「Beyond2025」では、カーボンニュートラル社会の実現に向けた新規事業にも取り組んでいます。「高温超電導材料」「ファイバレーザ」「超高速充電技術」など、未来を切り開く技術開発にも注力しています。
