Fujikura Ltd. (Director, President and CEO: Okada Naoki) will be sponsoring the Koto Cinema Festival again this year.

This cinema festival is held every year by the Koto Ward Cultural Community Foundation, a public interest incorporated foundation, in an effort to promote Fukagawa, the birthplace of world-famous film director Yasujiro Ozu, as a "city of film."

Our group aims to achieve both a sustainable society and continuous corporate development through corporate activities that are "friendly to people and the global environment." We also believe that respecting and valuing the culture and customs of local communities is an important part of a company's corporate social responsibility (CSR).

With this in mind, we support the aims of the Koto Cinema Festival, which is held annually in the Fukagawa district of Koto Ward, where our head office is located, and have been a continuous sponsor of the festival since its first event in 2007.

Last year marked the 120th anniversary of Ozu's birth (and 60 years since his death), and various events related to his work were held. He continues to be loved worldwide as a master director.

This year marks the 18th time the event has been held, and the theme of the event is "More than 60 Years After His Death: The Legacy of Yasujiro Ozu," and it will delve deeply into how director Ozu and his works have influenced future generations and the world.

In addition to screening nine films, the venue will host talk events with distinguished guests and a collection exhibition, "OZU of the World."
