Fujikura Ltd.

Fujikura Ltd. (Director, President and CEO: Okada Naoki) is supporting the Bon Odori Festival hosted by the Kiba Ichi-Rokucho Association (Chairman: Nakajima Takao), the local community association in the area where its head office is located, and will provide a venue for the festival.
The event will take place on both July 13th (Sat) and 14th (Sun), and the venue will be the Center Plaza of Fukagawa Gatharia (1-chome Kiba, Koto-ku, Tokyo) *1, which is owned and managed by our company.

The Kiba Ichi-Rokucho Association Bon Odori Festival, held at Fukagawa Gatharia, began 21 years ago in 2003. Thanks to the enthusiasm and hard work of the Kiba Ichi-Rokucho Association members, it has now grown into the largest Bon Odori festival hosted by a neighborhood association in Koto Ward.
Last year was the first time the event had been held in four years, and a total of about 45,000 people visited over the two days (according to the organizers). This year, the organizers expect a total of about 40,000 visitors.

A speech by Takao Nakajima, chairman of the Kiba Ichi-Roku Neighborhood Association, which is organizing the Bon Odori Festival
"Last year's Kiba Ichi-Roku Neighborhood Association Bon Odori Festival, held for the first time in four years after the COVID-19 pandemic, was more crowded than usual. We are pleased that we can hold the festival again this year, and we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all involved. This festival is a traditional downtown Bon Odori festival run independently by the neighborhood association. It is essential to maintain horizontal connections in the downtown area, and local elementary school students have been practicing taiko drums since spring and preparing for the festival. Since Fujikura provided us with the Fukagawa Gatharia as the venue 21 years ago, we have opened the door to not only town members but also people living in the surrounding area, contributing to creating a livable town. We expect many visitors this year as well, but we will pay attention to safety and do our best to ensure that everyone can enjoy the festival. Please come to the venue. "

"Fukagawa Gatharia" is an urban regeneration space redeveloped by our company with the concept of "establishing a new identity for the Fukagawa and Kiba area."
We will continue to coexist with the downtown area and its surrounding environment, working to create a town that is beloved by local residents and business people.

※1 "Fukagawa Gatharia"
This complex opened in 2003 after redeveloping the former site of Fujikura's Fukagawa factory. It is an integrated facility with office buildings, a large supermarket, a movie theater, a restaurant area, a fitness club, and more, with a view to inheriting the culture and traditions of the downtown area and creating a new era. Gatharia is a coined word made up of GATHER (gathering) + AREA (area) + IA (a suffix derived from the Latin word for a country or region), and represents an area where people and things gather.
