We are sponsoring the Koto Cinema Festival again this year - An event commemorating the 120th anniversary of the birth of director Yasujiro Ozu -
Fujikura Ltd. (Director, President and CEO Naoki Okada) and Fujikura Group aim to achieve both a sustainable society and continuous corporate development through corporate activities that are "friendly to people and the global environment." We also believe that respecting and valuing the culture and customs of local communities is an important part of a company's corporate social responsibility (CSR).
With this in mind, we support the purpose of the Koto Cinema Festival, which is held annually in the Fukagawa area of Koto Ward, where our head office is located, and have been sponsoring it continuously since the first event in 2007. This year marks the 17th anniversary of the festival, which is named after the world-famous director Yasujiro Ozu, who was born in Fukagawa, and serves as a commemorative event for the 120th anniversary of his birth. We will continue to sponsor the festival this year.
As the Koto Cinema Festival becomes more and more popular, Fukagawa, the birthplace of director Yasujiro Ozu, will become more widely known as "Fukagawa, the city of film," attracting more people, and through this interaction, enriching the local community culture. We will continue to cooperate in this endeavor.
