On behalf of Fujikura Group, I would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to all of you young and energetic people who will be responsible for Fujikura Group in the future.
Contributing to society as "Fujikura, a Technology Leader"
This year marks the 139th year since our company was founded in 1885. Since then, we have faced many difficulties, but we have continued to meet our customers' expectations and contribute to the development of society.
Based on Corporate Philosophy, MVCV, we have set our mission as "creating customer value and contributing to society through "Tsunagu" technology," and have made many contributions to society and our customers by creating customer value through our technological capabilities. We believe that we have been able to achieve this because Fujikura DNA, cultivated over our long history, is truly "Fujikura, a Technology Leader." The changes in the environment surrounding us are becoming faster and greater than ever before, but by leveraging the products and technologies Fujikura possess and revitalizing our metabolism, we aim to create new value and achieve sustainable growth.
A request to new Fujikura employee who will lead the future
The first is "Strive to improve yourself." As the environment changes dramatically, the field in which you will be active is no longer limited to Japan, but is expanding globally. To become human resource who can be active on the global stage, you need not only work knowledge and skills and language skills, but also a high level of awareness and a broad perspective. I hope that you will constantly strive to improve yourself, and that by accumulating experience and thinking and acting for yourself every day rather than waiting for things to be handed to you, you will acquire the awareness and skills of a professional.
The second is to "believe in your own infinite potential and take on challenges." It's no fun to deny your own potential and just wait for instructions. Take on anything with the determination to "do it yourself/try it." Fujikura Group will make every effort to provide an environment where everyone can work and be active. We want you to respond to this with high aspirations and a spirit of challenge.
Moving towards a new growth phase under the next medium-term plan
Fujikura In response to the worsening performance in fiscal 2019, business has positioned fiscal 2020 and 2021 as the revitalization phase, and has decisively implemented various reforms to promote improvement of its structure and reinforcement of profitability. As a result, business we have steered the company from the revitalization phase to the growth phase, and we expect to achieve record-high operating income in FY2022, literally achieving a V-shaped recovery. Fiscal 2023, which begins today, will be the first year of our new medium-term plan. As we look to fiscal 2025, the final year of our medium-term plan, and even beyond, let us work together to create customer value and contribute to society as Fujikura, a Technology Leader.
