Congratulations on joining the company.
I was appointed president on April 1st and have significantly revamped our management structure, so today marks the start of a new Fujikura. On such a day, I am delighted to be able to welcome you all as members of Fujikura Group.

This year marks our 138th year since our founding in 1885. Since then, we have faced many difficulties, but we have continued to meet our customers' expectations and contribute to the development of society.
Based on our Corporate Philosophy MVCV, we have set the mission of "creating value for customer and contributing to society through "Tsunagu" technology," and have made many contributions to society and our customers, particularly in the fields of information and communications, energy, electronics, and automotive electronics. We believe that we have been able to achieve this because our DNA, cultivated over our long history, is truly "Fujikura Technology." We believe that Fujikura's raison d'être is to create value customer through technology and contribute to society.

The environment surrounding our company has changed rapidly, but the changes we are currently facing are becoming even greater and faster. In addition to the movement towards low carbonization in response to environmental issues and changes in the social environment due to the digital revolution, the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has also brought about major changes in our behavior and values in our daily lives. In such a rapidly changing environment, our company must compete and survive on the world business in order to survive. In order to continue to win against emerging manufacturers, we need to have world-class technology and to maintain this, we need constant "metabolism." All of you who joined us today will be the source of that "metabolism."

The first is "Strive to improve yourself." As the environment changes dramatically, the field in which you will be active is no longer limited to Japan, but is expanding globally. To become human resource who can be active on the global stage, you need not only work knowledge and skills and language skills, but also a high level of awareness and a broad perspective. I hope that you will always make an effort to improve yourself, and that by accumulating these experiences and thinking and acting for yourself every day rather than waiting for things to be handed to you, you will acquire the awareness and skills of a professional.
The second is to "believe in your own infinite potential and take on challenges." It's no fun to give up on your own potential and just wait for instructions. Take on anything with the determination to "do it yourself/try to give it a try." Fujikura Group will make every effort to provide an environment where everyone can work and be active. We expect you to respond to this with high aspirations and a spirit of challenge.

Starting in fiscal 2022, we will step into a growth phase as the "New Fujikura." Let's work together to rebuild the "Fujikura Technology" brand, create customer value with our world-leading technology, and contribute to society.
