Congratulations on joining the company.
I was appointed president on April 1st and have significantly revamped our management structure, so today marks the start of a new Fujikura. On such a day, I am delighted to be able to welcome you all as members of Fujikura Group.
Contributing to society as "Fujikura, a Technology Leader"
Fujikura has been in business since its founding in 1885, and this year marks its 138th year. Since its founding, despite facing numerous difficulties, we have met the expectations of our customers and contributed to the development of society.
Under Corporate Philosophy MVCV, the mission is to "contribute to the creation of customer value and society through "Tsunagu" technology", and has made many contributions to society and customers, especially in the fields of information and communication, energy, electronics, and automotive electrical equipment. We believe that this was possible because the DNA of Fujikura, which has been cultivated over a long history, is exactly "Fujikura, a Technology Leader". We believe that contributing to society by creating customer value through technology is the raison d'être of Fujikura.
Constant metabolism
The environment surrounding our company has changed rapidly, but the changes we are currently facing are becoming even greater and faster. In addition to the movement towards low carbonization in response to environmental issues and changes in the social environment due to the digital revolution, the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has also brought about major changes in our behavior and values in our daily lives. In such a rapidly changing environment, our company must compete and survive on the world business in order to survive. In order to continue to win against emerging manufacturers, we need to have world-class technology and to maintain this, we need constant "metabolism." All of you who joined us today will be the source of that "metabolism."
A request to new Fujikura employee who will lead the future
The first is to "strive for self-improvement". In the midst of major changes in the environment, the fields in which you are active are not limited to Japan, but are expanding all over the world. In order to become a human resource who can play an active role on the world stage, it is necessary not only to have work knowledge, ability, and language skills, but also to have a high antenna and a broad perspective. I would like you to always make efforts for self-improvement, and to think and act on your own every day instead of waiting for what is given, and to acquire professional awareness and ability.
The second is to believe in your infinite potential and take on challenges. It's not fun to give up on your potential and work while waiting for instructions. Please do everything with the spirit of "I'll do it myself, let's do it." Fujikura Group will do its best to provide you with a comfortable working and active environment. I would like you to respond to this with high aspirations and a spirit of challenge.
Fujikura will enter the growth phase from FY2022 as a "new Fujikura". Let's work together to rebuild the "Fujikura, a Technology Leader" brand, create customer value with the world's best technology, and contribute to society.
