Fujikura Ltd. (Director, President and CEO Masahiko Ito) has recently begun sales of a new large-diameter Optcal Fiber cleaver, the "CT105+ Series."

Large-diameter Optcal Fiber are primarily used in applications such as manufacturing of fiber lasers, which require high-power optical energy transmission.
In order to obtain a good cleave angle for large-diameter Optcal Fiber, it is necessary to set the optimal Optcal Fiber gripping force and tension when cleaving. If the gripping force is too strong, Optcal Fiber coating may deform, which may affect the transmission characteristics of optical energy. On the other hand, if the gripping force is too weak, Optcal Fiber may slip due to the tension when cleaving, and a good cleave angle may not be obtained.

The new large-diameter Optcal Fiber cleaver "CT105+ series" is equipped with a function that automatically detects the optimal Optcal Fiber gripping force. This makes it possible to set the Optcal Fiber gripping force with higher accuracy in a shorter time than before. In addition, the design of the cleaving blade has been revised, and the number of times that Optcal Fiber can be cleaved has been significantly increased.
