Fujikura Ltd. (President and CEO: Masahiko Ito) has been certified as a 2021 Health and Productivity Management Excellent Corporation (Large Corporation unit) by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Japan Health Conference* for considering Fujikura employee health management from a management perspective and taking a strategy approach to it.
The Health and Productivity Management Outstanding Organization Certification System is a system that recognizes large enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises, and other organizations that are practicing particularly excellent health and productivity management based on their efforts to address local health issues and health promotion initiatives led by the Japan Health Conference.
Based on the idea that "a company's competitiveness is based on the good health of its Fujikura employee," Fujikura Group recognizes that Fujikura employee "health" is an important management resource in order to remain a company that is needed by society. Aiming to be "a corporate group where Fujikura employee work with enthusiasm," we are promoting initiatives for mental and physical revitalization and health promotion, such as those listed below.
1. Promoting Fujikura employee health
As part of our efforts to raise Fujikura employee health awareness and prevent disease, Fujikura Group has installed measuring devices such as body composition monitors and blood pressure monitors at each business site, creating an environment where Fujikura employee can self-monitor. In addition, Fujikura Group own unique test items are added to the legally required test items for regular health checkups to learn about employees' health conditions and disease risks.
2. Measures to prevent passive smoking
Fujikura Group has established policy to prevent passive smoking from the perspective of maintaining and improving the health of Fujikura employee and also as a social responsibility to protect the environment, and is working to reduce the smoking rate among Fujikura employee and prevent passive smoking by the end of fiscal year 2023. Specifically, we are working on measures such as gradually closing smoking areas on premises and imposing rules on the time that smoking areas can be used, with the aim of completely eliminating them. We also hold smoking cessation seminars for smokers and introduce online smoking cessation clinics subsidized by health insurance.
3. Next-generation Health and Productivity Management
In order to further promote the health maintenance capabilities and productivity improvement of Fujikura Group Fujikura employee through health management, we established Fujikura Ltd. (hereinafter, FHRI) in April 2019. As a measure for the second stage of health management that we have been promoting based on the "Fujikura Group Health Management Declaration," in order to further develop Fujikura Group 's health management, FHRI is the core of the entire Fujikura Group, practicing health management incorporating new technologies and styles, and researching a system that can give back to Fujikura employee and their families in a sustainable manner. As one of these efforts, we developed the next-generation health management solution "@Switch! (Atto Switch)" app and released it for Fujikura Group Fujikura employee. "@Switch!" is a new SNS-type platform that allows users to manage themselves through daily activity data and food logs, as well as connect with each other through the keyword "health." It is a solution that allows you to "Attack!" and notice something at any time, any place, any space, and at any time you like in various lifestyles, and easily turn on your transformation switch.
