Fujikura Ltd.
Fujikura Ltd. (President and CEO: Masahiko Ito) has expanded its lineup of thin dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) module panels and has begun sales.
In recent years, IoT sensing has been actively used to improve efficiency and automate a variety of fields, including smart factories, smart agriculture, and infrastructure monitoring. Accordingly, the locations and environments in which IoT sensor terminals are installed are becoming more and more diverse, and various types of terminals are being developed. In addition, the use of solar cells as a power source for these terminals is becoming more widespread, as it reduces installation and maintenance costs and environmental impact.
In this environment, we have commercialized DSSC module panels that can generate electricity efficiently even under indoor light and have excellent long-term reliability, and they have been highly evaluated by many customers for adoption. On the other hand, with the recent expansion of IoT sensor terminal usage scenarios and the diversification of terminal sizes, there has been a demand for more diverse shapes and sizes for the solar cells used there.

In addition to providing DSSC module panels, we also provide support for the design of the electrical circuits required for DSSC power sources, helping to resolve power supply issues in our customers' products and shortening development times, and contributing to the early realization of a fully-fledged IoT society.
We will be exhibiting DSSC module panels at the online virtual events Internet of Things World (August 11-13, 2020) and Internet of Things World Asia (September 29-October 1, 2020) this summer, and we hope you will visit us there as well.
