Participation in the "IP Declaration to Support COVID-19 Countermeasures"

Fujikura Ltd. (President and CEO: Masahiko Ito) has participated in the "IP Disclosure Declaration to Support COVID-19 Countermeasures" aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19.
In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, industry, government, and academia must work together to develop and manufacturing treatments, vaccines, medical devices, and products to prevent infection at a speed that is not limited by conventional wisdom or stereotypes. This declaration outlines that for a certain period of time, we will not exercise our intellectual property rights in relation to activities such as development, manufacturing, and sales aimed at ending the spread of COVID-19.
Fujikura agrees with the spirit of this declaration and will refrain from exercising its patent rights, utility model rights, or design rights for a certain period of time with respect to any actions aimed at ending the spread of COVID-19, including the diagnosis, prevention, containment, and treatment of COVID-19, and will not seek any remuneration or compensation during that period.
We will continue to provide support to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
