Congratulations on joining the company.
On behalf of all Fujikura employee in the group, I would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to all of you young and energetic people who will lead Fujikura Group into the future. From now on, I ask that you act responsibly as our colleagues and as members of society, and make efforts to contribute to Fujikura Group and society.

In its 136-year history since its founding in 1885, Fujikura has developed from manufacturing sales of electric power and communication wires, and has made a major contribution to the full-scale construction of Japan's power and communication infrastructure. The development and manufacturing of Optcal Fiber, which supported the construction of the communication infrastructure, is connected to the information and communication business, which is the mainstay of our current business.
Optical technology continues to evolve, and we are about to enter the age of 5G. We are not only building a communication network using highly integrated and high-density optical cables that use high-performance Optcal Fiber to support the 5G era, but we are also developing millimeter-wave wireless technology. We continue to pave new paths using the various technologies we have cultivated over the years. These challenges will lead to the provision of solutions that will impress customers around the world.

The current business environment surrounding our company is extremely tough, and we are struggling in terms of performance. We must overcome this difficult situation as a united group, but I believe that we cannot overcome this difficult situation by simply continuing the same way as before. I believe that unless we reject the way things have been done up until now and are prepared to create new ways of doing things, we will not be able to carve out a new future for our company.
So I have a request for you all. For all of you who have not yet been dyed in the Fujikura colors, I want you to not be too tied up in the Fujikura colors of the past, but to have the determination to create the Fujikura colors of the future. I want you to fully utilize your flexible thinking and creativity to build the new Fujikura colors. I have high expectations of you.
