Fujikura Ltd. (President and CEO: Masahiko Ito) has been selected as one of the "Derwent Top 100 Global Innovators 2020" by Clarivate Analytics, a global information services company, and was presented with the trophy on February 19th.
This award selects the top 100 innovative companies and institutions in the world by analyzing intellectual property trends based on patent data held by Clarivate Analytics, and is evaluated based on four criteria: "number of patents," "success rate (the ratio of granted patents to the number of patent applications filed)," "globalization," and "influence of patents in citations." As a result of strengthening its patent portfolio in Japan, the United States, Europe, and China, our company was highly evaluated for its "globalization," and this was the first time we received the award.
Going forward, we will continue to strengthen our core technological foundations in the four fields of "optical," "wireless," "electronic components," and "wires and cables," and will strive to expand our technologies through open innovation in order to develop new products and create new business, while also promoting intellectual property activities that support these activities.
