Development of Separable Connector for Both 22kV and 33kV Equipment Compliant with IEC Standard

January 28, 2015

Fujikura Ltd. (Yoichi Nagahama, President and CEO) announces that it has developed "separable connector for both 22kV and 33kV equipment compliant with IEC standard" to connect electric cables to equipment including ring main unit.

This innovative product is compliant with IEC 60502-4, and used for ring main unit or transformer compliant with IEC standard used in the renewable energy field such as solar power and wind power generation. Previous version can be used only for 22kV, but the new one can be applied for both 22kV and 33kV by redesigning its internal structure. Splitter terminals attached to the back of a terminal for trunk lines enable the product to connect multiply. It does not need a connecting unit which has been used for its assembling. Without special tools, it can be assembled only by a general kit, and workability has been drastically improved.

A separable connector for equipment is used in a small space such as ring main unit, and thus it is required to be compact. Compared to similar products of other companies, our product is smaller by approximately 10 % regarding overall depth after assembling.

Fujikura Ltd. will exhibit it at the WIND EXPO 2015 - Third International Wind Energy Expo & Conference that will be held at Tokyo Big Sight.
