November 15, 2016

Fujikura Ltd. (President and CEO: Masahiko Ito, "the Company") has joined "the Ikuboss Corporate Alliance" organized by the specified NPO Fathering Japan (Representative Director: Tetsuya Ando) to promote diversity and way of working reform.

Taking this opportunity, the Company will strive further to improve the environment that enables employees to maintain balance between career and life events. It will create a climate in which various human resources work together and new perspectives are welcomed as well as a culture which enhances creative ideas.

On November 14, President Ito made a Statement regarding joining "the Ikuboss Corporate Alliance" at a signing ceremony by Director Ando and President Ito.

Statement regarding joining "the Ikuboss Corporate Alliance"

The Company has been promoting the creation of organization in which truly various human resources can play active roles. We believe that bouncing off and clashing ideas of people with different backgrounds and ways of thinking results in producing creative and advanced ideas that can be a breakthrough.

To create an organization in which truly various human resources can play active roles, it is necessary that those who manage human resources should change themselves in addition to having various human resources join the Company.

Today, those who are in managerial positions should not manage their people in uniformity but are required to be able to maximize results as organizations by the most appropriate management which utilizes each characteristic of subordinates who have various life and work styles.

In addition, managers are requested to support their people to produce better results in a shorter time, not relying on long working hours. We think that managers' fulfilled lives with efficient work and time to care children, rest, develop themselves and enjoy hobbies will lead to a change in climate in entire workplaces, and as a result, subordinates' behavior will change.

Taking this opportunity of joining to " the Ikuboss Corporate Alliance", Fujikura will accelerate measures to promote diversity and to reform the way of working to continuously grow and develop with "employees' working to their fullest" and "earning profits" at the same time.
