Fujikura Ltd., (President and CEO: Naoki Okada) and Fujikura Europe Ltd., a local subsidiary that sells Fujikura products in the United Kingdom, filed a lawsuit against Sterlite Technologies Ltd. (headquartered in India) in the High Court of Justice in England and Wales on October 23, 2023. The suit is for seeking an injunction of the sales of high-density, reduced diameter fiber optic cables being sold by Sterlite Technologies in the U.K., based on our assessment that the cables infringe Fujikura's European Patent No. 3796060, which claims a high-density, reduced diameter fiber optical cable using SWR®/WTC® technology, developed by Fujikura Ltd.
