Fujikura Ltd. (President & CEO: Masahiko Ito) will develop a new pressure sensor for the low pressure range, AL4 Series, and will begin mass production in the fall of 2018. In recent years, there has been a growing need for a more precise and user-friendly pressure sensor for applications in various respiratory medical devices and industrial devices that require detection of low pressure in the range of a few kPa. This product achieves both the highly-accurate detection of low pressure ranges and has an excellent pressure resistance; it can withstand a maximum pressure of 100 kPa by employing a uniquely-designed pressure sensing chip with enhanced sensitivity that captures minor pressure change. Furthermore, the highest moisture sensitivity level, or MSL 1, has been achieved by using an ingenious assembly technology that suppresses moisture absorption in the reflow process. This has eliminated the need for customers to carry out the special pre-mounting process and bothersome work time management and has created an eco-friendly product that does not require the use of special moisture-resistant packaging. Fujikura will continue to contribute to society by providing the newest, simplest, and most user-friendly pressure detection solutions to enable customers to flexibly design applications.
