Fujikura Limited. Japan (President and Chief Executive Office Mr Masahiko Ito) is pleased to announce the launch of new tools, RS02 and RS03, for stripping telecommunication optical ribbon fiber. Sales of the new RS02 and RS03 will commence from May 2017.

Optical ribbon fiber is made by 2 to 12 single fibers horizontally aligned like tape. These fibers are widely used in many countries such as Japan, the United States, India, and China.

The fiber stripping tools are designed and developed with emphasis on operability and usability where less force is required for the stripping process. Furthermore, the new RS02 and RS03 are equipped with new features such as large capacity battery for 600 stripping cycles, 6 times larger than conventional stripper, and wireless link with smartphones for operational parameters adjustment.

These fiber stripping tools are also compatible with stripping Fujikura latest Spider Web Ribbon^TM ,which consists of optical fibers (with a coating diameter of 250μm or 200 μm) fixed intermittently.

The RS03 is equipped with large capacity battery and requires no power cord, while the RS02 has no battery and is powered from a fusion splicer or an external power source.
