On March 24th 2017, Fujikura Ltd. (President and CEO Ito Masahiko) was awarded the status of a Class 3 Eruboshi company, the highest class within the system, by the Japanese Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare for its outstanding efforts in the field of promoting women's activities, based on the Act on Promotion of Women's Participation and Advancement in the Workplace (Promotion of Women's Career Activities Act).
The Eruboshi status is awarded by the Japanese Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare to companies with outstanding efforts in implementing initiatives for the promotion of women's career activities, from those submitted an action plan based on the Promotion of Women's Career Activities Act. There are three Classes of designation, based on a number of criteria belonging to five different categories. For its successful clearance of all criteria, Fujikura Ltd. received the Class 3 designation, the highest class within the system.

Within our medium-term management plan for the year 2020, Fujikura especially emphasizes group unification and team approaches to the management direction for the purpose of becoming a company with high profitability and a powerful metabolism. As part of the policies adhering to the direction, the company is endeavoring to further promote diversity within the workplace.

Being designated an Eruboshi company provides further impetus for Fujikura to strive towards a business model within which various talented individuals can freely participate in career activities, regardless of their gender.
