Fujikura Ltd. (President: Yoichi Nagahama) recently received a letter of appreciation from the Heisei Foundation for Basic Science (Chairman: Masatoshi Koshiba).

The letter of appreciation was presented to the Fujikura Group for the active cooperation and support that it has provided, through its CSR (corporate social responsibility) activities, for the Foundation's activities.

The Heisei Foundation for Basic Science, from which we received the letter of appreciation, is presided over by Dr. Masatoshi Koshiba, professor emeritus of the University of Tokyo, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2002. The Foundation operates with the aim of significantly contributing to the advancement of basic science in Japan through promoting the understanding of basic science by encouraging research and the teaching of basic science.

Fujikura Ltd. and the Fujikura Group have been contributing to the development of science technologies and industries in Japan through providing a research grant to the Shinsei Foundation. We will make further efforts towards actively assuming our social responsibilities through CSR activities, with the aim of becoming a corporate group that is indispensible to society.
