FY2016 CSR Efforts Using the group-decided materiality (4 priority areas) as a base, the Fujikura group created CSR goals for the Medium-term Management Plan (2020 MT) via identification of issues based on effects on administration and stake holder interests, as well as third-party, expert opinions. We undertook various efforts toward that aim in FY2016. The Fujikura Group's CSR Activities Explained with Numbers The Fujikura group has continued to make efforts to display an overall image of CSR activities in "easy-to-understand numbers" since 2014. This year's "Fujikura Group's CSR Activities Explained with Numbers (FY2016)" was compiled by 61 key companies of our group. Also, monetary units used to calculate social contributions are taken from the social contribution survey conducted by the Japan Business Federation. "Self-evaluation" as a whole CSR activity in FY2016 evaluated that "we achieved the target in general." Self-Evaluation Method Fujikura Group disclose the self-evaluation results of the activities in the CSR report. We ensure the integrity of the self-evaluation by taking the following steps: (1) supervising departments implement a four-grade self-evaluation for each item of the priority CSR measures; (2) a four-grade "peer evaluation" is made by each of the 20 members of the CSR Committee; and (3) comprehensive analysis of the evaluations is undertaken by the 20 parties, and the final evaluation of the analysis results by the director in charge.
