Waste Reduction

Zero emissions

Companies are expected to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill sites to zero by reusing, reducing, and recycling waste generated from their manufacturing processes and offices to contribute to building a recycling-based society.

Fujikura has been recovering waste copper and aluminum as valuable metals, and they are 100% reused. At present, the entire Fujikura Group is committed to reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill sites by reducing losses of materials and making effective reuse of materials through sorted recovery.

In fiscal 2010, the total release of waste from Fujikura and other domestic Group companies amounted to 18,221 tons, of which 169 tons (0.93%) was sent to landfill sites.

As its next target, Fujikura aims to achieve perfect zero emissions by reducing landfill waste to zero.
