Fujikura’s Technology is
the Key to Fusion Energy
Fujikura’s High Temperature Superconducting (HTS)tape enables a superconducting state at higher temperature and achieves a higher magnetic field. HTS tape is used in superconducting magnet to control plasma confinement for fusion energy, and is expected to play an important role in realizing a carbon-neutral society.

What is fusion energy?
Fusion energy is released when light nuclei (such as deuterium and tritium) fuse together into heavier nuclei, like helium, as it occurs in the sun. It is considered that one gram of fuel could generate energy equivalent to that from the combustion of eight tons of petroleum.
-
What is a fusion energy reactor?
A fusion energy reactor is a next-generation power plant generating fusion energy. As fuel can be extracted from seawater and no carbon dioxide is generated in the process of power generation, it has been drawing attention as a solution to global warming and environmental issues, and it is expected to play avital role in realizing a carbon-neutral society
