Fujikura Ltd. (President and CEO: Masahiko Ito) is pleased to announce that it will launch the phased sale of its Core Alignment Single Fiber Fusion Splicer and Ribbon Fiber Fusion Splicer featuring new functions beginning in the second half of FY2017.

One of the features of the improved models is a wireless communication function that enables communication with peripheral tools, thus improving convenience for workers by realizing, for example, automation of settings through linkage with the fusion splicer. In addition, with the aim of improving operability, a wind protector open/close button has been added and the action speed of the tube heater cover shortened.

These products will be exhibited at the European Conference on Optical Communication (ECOC) to be held in Sweden on September 17.
