Fujikura Ltd. (President & CEO: Masahiko Ito) received the FY2017 Achievement Award (Industrial Technology Achievement) from the Cryogenics and Superconductivity Society of Japan (CSSJ). This award is presented to the representative of an organization that has made remarkable achievements in the progress and development of industrial technology for cryogenics and superconductivity over the past decade or so.

Since 1986, when high-temperature superconductivity was discovered, we have been developing yttrium-based high-temperature superconductive wire aiming for practical applications. In recent years, our work towards the development of practical equipment including yttrium-based high-temperature superconductive wire has become increasingly active, and our achievement in the development of this technology has been recognized with the honor of this award.

We will strive to contribute to society through the development of high-temperature superconductive wire and its application equipment in order to achieve a low-carbon society.
