Release of Advanced Optical Fiber Identifier with ONU Detector and Small Single Fiber Fusion Splicer with Active V-groove Function

January 6, 2015

Fujikura Ltd. (Yoichi Nagahama, President and CEO) announces that it has developed and released "Advanced Optical Fiber Identifier with ONU Detector FID-30R/31R" and "Small Single Fiber Fusion Splicer with Active V-groove Function 21S".
  • Advanced Optical Fiber Identifier with ONU Detector FID-30R/31R
An optical fiber identifier exerting no effect on transmitted light has become a must to avoid accidental disconnection and improper connection of optical fibers in launching, rerouting, and maintaining optical network. In addition, there has been a growing need for functions to detect the presence or absence of an ONU (optical network unit). In response to these demands, the new product is the optical fiber identifier with substantially improved sensitivity and ONU detection.

  • Small Single Fiber Fusion Splicer with Active V-groove Function
Fujikura Ltd. has developed and released the small single fiber fusion splicer 21S. This innovative product enables high-quality splice by reducing the gap of optical fiber core, which is the cause of loss in fusion splice at installation work of splicing optical fiber cables, through adjusting the v-groove. It is the smallest and lightest in the world as an active v-groove fusion splicer.
