Fujikura commercializes Transparent Capacitive Touch Panel Module

12 June 2012

Fujikura Ltd (President Yoichi Nagahama) has developed and commercialized transparent capacitive touch panel modules by leveraging printing technique, etching technique and buildup/composite technique, which are cultivated by the engineering of FPC and membrane circuit.

For the high-end electronic devices, Fujikura offers transparent touch panel modules which have indium tin oxide (ITO) transparent electrodes patterned by a fine etching technique and have a fine boarder conductor line with 30um/30um of line/space by "Roll to Roll" (R-R) gravure offset printing.

Besides, for devices requiring lower prices such as smart phones for emerging markets, Fujikura proposes low-cost transparent touch panel modules which fabricate both fine boarder conductor line and fine mesh-like transparent electrodes by R-R gravure off-set printing. The fine mesh-like transparent electrode performs high transmittance (more than 90%) and low resistance (less than 50Ω / □ of surface resistivity) at the same time as offering low-cost.

In addition, Fujikura provides ancillary products such as decorative film for laminating a touch screen and a lens cover together.

"R-R offset gravure printing technology" which is the core of these products, as part of the "Printed Electronics" technology is jointly developed by inside and outside companies of Fujikura group companies.

Fujikura's transparent capacitive touch panel modules will be showcased in the 2012 "Printed Circuit Board Technology Exhibition" held at Tokyo Big Site.
