Fujikura Group established the Fujikura Global Environment Charter in 1992 and developed internal environmental conservation structure.
In addition to conventional factory pollution management, the Group appointed an executive in charge of the environment to take responsibility in environmental conservation for all plants and departments. The system consists of various committees, such as the Global Environment Committee, comprised of all plant managers and department members as committee members; the Environment Communication Committee, comprised of members at Global Environment Division and those in charge of the environment at each plant; and the Environment Management Committee, established at each plant.
Under the system, various promotion activities are implemented, including the deliberation of targets and plans related to global conservation; following up progress in achievements; addressing environmental issues; exchanging information; and extending activities horizontally.
