| As electric power supply increases in importance due to growth of the information society, Fujikura is working to develop and improve bypass cable equipment as one way of ensuring uninterrupted power. Deliveries continue in Japan, and starting in 2002, we began delivering equipment to electric power suppliers in Shanghai, where there is remarkable economic growth. We are also making deliveries to the main power suppliers in the East China region. At present, we have delivered over 20 sets, and in the future we will conduct PR targeting the Beijing Power Company and the Southern China region, and cooperate in developing the infrastructure within China. We are also expanding sales to regions outside China. |
