Beginning March 2004, Fujikura is selling the worlds fastest, smallest and lightest single-fiber core alignment fusion splicer, the FSM-50S.
In the 1980s, Fujikura originally developed the world's first commercial fusion splicer with PAS technology (profile alignment system) for core aligning. Since then, PAS technology has become the de facto splicer standard, resulting in a strong Fujikura position of over 50% worldwide market share. The FSM-50S is the latest in a long line of leading edge splicers, incorporating Fujikura's superior technical capabilities, high quality, and high performance.
The 50S was designed to address the increasingly diverse needs of splicer users and tough market demands. It includes greatly improved capabilities to make the splicing process faster, easier, and higher quality, with special functions to prevent failed splices.
The FSM-50S is not limited to telecommunications field applications. It also has many features and sophisticated functions that make it attractive in factories and research applications for fusion splicing the latest optical devices. |
